Built for the Inverness Victoria Federation of Agriculture, FieldBook helps members queue for shared equipment, confirm pickups, and record their usage on return, while caretakers manage the queues and repair holds.

Approach
I’m involved in what the application needs to do, how people use it, and how it runs. Design and development aren’t separate handoffs, and hosting isn’t someone else’s unexplained setup.
Start with the people, the process, and the problem the software needs to address.
Work out a useful first version, design the interface, and build the application in Rails.
Deploy it, operate it, and continue improving it as needs become clearer.
About
Route 19 is my independent software practice, based in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I’ve worked remotely for 20 years and work with clients wherever there’s a good fit.
I build products of my own as well as applications for clients. In both cases, I handle the design, UI/UX, development, deployment, and hosting. I especially enjoy starting something new around a real problem and seeing it become part of someone’s working day.
